Join Our Team

We are a community of parents, students, and professional people committed to an education with academic excellence focused on thinking processes and involved with pedagogical innovation.

Teachers at Gimnasio La Montaña undergo a process of continuous professional development in order to offer the best education to their students.

Professional development is a key factor in the quality of work of our teaching staff, and therefore, the school offers multiple spaces to keep learning and growing together in their understanding and implementation of pedagogical fundamentals and practices.

On Wednesday afternoons, teachers participate in sessions scheduled to explore in more detail those aspects of high significance for the school. This is achieved through workshops and teamwork by areas analyzing data, identifying successful practices, and considering implementation options.

On Friday afternoons, there is a space for teacher´s individual learning. During this time, teachers take courses to improve their knowledge, abilities, and understanding of a variety of topics. This type of professional development includes training in areas such as: Conscious Discipline, Cognitive Development, Moral Development, Socio-emotional Development, Education for the XXI Century, The Theory of Six Readings, and Conceptual Pedagogy. Teachers, depending on their area of expertise, should keep updated through the courses offered by the school and/or external opportunities including post-graduation studies.

On the other hand, teachers are closely and continuously accompanied by their Heads of Department as to guarantee that they receive the support required to be successful and to make a meaningful impact in the performance of their students. New teachers attend weekly special sessions as training for their roles in this school learning about specific aspects such as lesson-planning and assessment schemes of the school, or the GLM philosophy.

At GLM we promote the permanent qualification of our teachers with the purpose of improving the learning processes of our students. We understand education as a dynamic task under permanent construction and, therefore, evaluation and monitoring of our teachers is a constant matter of concern.
