Infirmary

The service of infirmary at Gimnasio La Montaña provides primary care in health, meaning low level of risk and first aid care to the whole community, visitors, or outsiders inside the school. This is how we contribute to the welfare, improvement, and/or protection of health and life of our community members.

Health Staff
Two professional nurses are commissioned to this service along the school daily schedule as well as during cultural and/or sport events outside the facilities of the school.

Infirmary hours
6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or depending on activities programmed during additional hours.

Facilities and equipment
The infirmary is located to the northeastern side of the school next to the former teacher´s dining room. There is equipment to monitor vital signs, immobilize, and transport patients in case required. For vital emergency situations, there is also an automated external defibrillator AED.

Additional services
We have also joined the emergency services of Emermédica S.A. which offer the possibility of having medical assistance within the facilities of the school, and/or transportation of patients in case it is required.
For employees, in case of a situation, the school reports the ARL (professional employment risk association) for service.

Essential information to be considered – Administration of medications
As per regulations from the Secretary of Health and considering Law 911 in 2004, the school infirmary can only administer medications under a written, legible, and updated medical prescription. In case your child takes a homeopathic and/or over the-counter medicine, a written or e-mail authorization from parents will be required; otherwise, an authorizing phone call at (601) 676 1861, extension 117 would be accepted.

The Gimnasio La Montaña conscious of its role in promoting healthy life habits supports campaigns and programs to prevent diseases.
